DTN COMMENTS: We are picking up a few bids in Nebraska this morning,
following light business yesterday. Best early guesses are that Texas moved
about 500 head at 159.00, $1.00 lower than last week. Nebraska traded nearly
5,000 head at mostly 160.00-160.50, generally steady to just a tad higher
compared to last week's live trade, just a handful of dressed sales were
reported at 250.00, $4.00 lower than last week's weighted average. Kansas
sold about 10,000 head at 159.00-160.00, mostly 159.00, steady to $1.00
lower. We expect to see more trade develop sometime today. Asking prices
are around 161.00-162.00 in the South and 258.00 plus in the North. Beef
cutouts are expected to be lower with light to moderate box movement.
